FROM THE DEAD AIR ORGY "The Song Of Silenus" was commissioned by Live Arts Week VIII, Bologna. Developed on site by Simon Vincenzi, Saunders, and performer Kath Duggan, the project took the shape of 3 durational performances in a series of ornate, labyrinthine and dusty store rooms in the Palazzo Pezzoli, above a wine paraphernalia shop in one of Bologna's most swanky districts. The performances took place over three evenings and made use of the sonic and visual character of the rooms to create a performative installation that was also a YouTube live stream, broadcast to the channel Dead Air.
The project formed through an attempt to tune-in to the mythological/cosmological echo of a song sung by Silenus, a non-human being linked to Dionysus.
